National Leadership Training Program
The Australian Financial Security Authority engaged PB Performance and Development to run a pilot 3-day leadership development workshop for Canberra based Executive Level managers, in order to build capacity to lead for high performance in a contemporary environment. Based on the success of the pilot, the program was delivered for approximately 80 staff in five AFSA State Offices across Australia.
Workshop material was tailored to meet the needs of the client, and included:
- Contemporary leadership challenges and competencies
- Managing and responding to change
- Emotional intelligence
- Communicating with influence
- Challenging performance conversations
- Creating a positive climate
- Coaching for success
Workshop delivery incorporated a combination of learning strategies, including presentation of theory, facilitated group discussion, practical activities and personal reflection. Participants completed the workshop with a group presentation of pertinent material, and an individual presentation outlining personal learning and future leadership goals. A participant workbook containing workshop tools, resources and references supported retention and application of material in the workplace.
