Positive Psychology Interest Group – Engagement and Flow

Archived Event

Flow, a state of gratification we enter when we feel completely engaged, is characterised by intense absorption and involvement in the present moment. Positive psychologists believe the experience of flow is an essential component of optimum human functioning.

I am pleased to announce the next Happiness and Positive Psychology Coaching professional development forum for 2011 will take place on Wednesday 9th November and will feature this fascinating topic.

Topic:
Engagement and Flow: Personal, Coaching and Work Applications

Guest Speaker:
Mario Virgili, Psychologist and Positive Psychology Doctoral student

Details:
Wednesday 9th November 2011,  5:00 – 7:00pm
The Robin Hood Hotel, 315 Portrush Rd Norwood

Cost:
$10 at the door

RSVP: by Friday 4th November (email via the link at the bottom of the page)

The forum will look at how individuals might increase flow in their lives in support of optimum human functioning, and then consider employee engagement from an employer’s perspective – is it possible for an employer to ‘engage’ an employee, and if so how? I will be joined by Psychologist Mario Virgili, who has worked extensively with individuals and teams in organisations and is currently completing a doctoral study on positive psychology in the workplace.

As per our regular meeting format, there’s an opportunity for participants to network, share relevant resources and find out about what’s coming up in the field of happiness and positive psychology.

The Happiness and Positive Psychology Coaching Special Interest Group is a professional development forum for coaches and professionals interested in the science of happiness and positive psychology, and how we can apply it in our professional practice, within organisations and to our own lives. The group is run under the auspices of the International Coach Federation, SA Branch.

Further information and registration details are on the attached flyer.

I look forward to seeing you on 9th November.
